Do THIS If You Have A Hard Time Consuming Enough Calories
Alot of people have a hard time gaining weight and muscle mass. The only reason for not gaining weight is not consuming enough calories. I hear things like ”I already eat so much!” or ”I just cant eat anymore” but the reality is that if you’re not gaining weight, you’re simply not eating enough. The so called hardgainers or ectomorphs have to consume so much calories because their metabolism is so high.
For this problem I have found a solution that I have also used since early on in my fitness journey.
The secret is to drink the calories you need if you can’t get in anymore calories by eating and chewing. Now there are many different things to drink. Some people, like myself, believe in GOMAD (Gallon of Milk a Day) because milk is very caloric and nutrient dense and others drink a lot of juices. The shake I drink has been the same for many years and it never bored me. The recipe might change a little depending on current mood, desires and goals but the base will always be the same. This shake covers most of your nutritional needs so it is a very complete meal.

The Home-made weight gainer shake:

The following ingredients I blend all together: (portions may vary dependant on your dietary needs)
  • 60gr Whey Protein
  • 100gr oats
  • Handful of frozen berries, any fruit will do actually. If you dont use frozen fruits you might add extra ice cubes instead.
  • 20 gr of olive oil
  • 500ml of water, you can use more or less water depending on your desired consistency.
Optional: If you’re still not gaining weight, switch the water for whole milk and the calories increase by about 300

Nutritional Facts:

  • Calories:  900
  • Protein:    64,9
  • Carbs:     92,4
  • Fats:        31,1
At the moment I drink this shake twice a day which really helps me with consuming enough calories to recover from my workouts and grow.
